The makers of Pork Barrel BBQ, which produces sauces and dry rubs in the US, has launched a barbecue-scented cologne called Que -- pronounced 'Cue' -- an "intoxicating bouquet of spices, smoke, meat and sweet summer sweat" that was developed by a "team of craftsmen and fine perfumers" and launched in time for Father's Day in North America. In a series of cheeky commercials that poke fun at its own concept, a fluffy, pink pig mascot disrobes seductively, stripping off his apron, barbecue tool belt and assorted cuts of raw meat to wear only 'what's real."
A second commercial is a spoof on Elizabeth Taylor's commercial for her perfume White Diamonds.
And in a third commercial, a disastrous blind date ends with a marriage proposal after the girl douses herself in the barbecue-scented cologne.
Que follows on the hoofed-heels of Farginnay's bacōn cologne -- pronounced bay-cone -- which also captures the scent of pork for bacon junkies. The Classic version is described as a "spicy maple aroma" while the Gold is a "memorable sizzling citrus." The one-ounce (30 ml) bottles of cologne are sold online for $36.
In 2008, Burger King also captured its signature flame-broiled burgers in a limited edition men's body spray, The Flame BK.
A 2-ounce (60 ml) bottle of Que, meanwhile, sells for $24 (€16) .
